Who has fed you?

“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit” - Romans 13:14

“Jesus said, Feed my lambs.”
Again Jesus said, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
He answered, “Yes, Lord, You know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “take care of my sheep.”
The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?”
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me? He said, “Lord, you know all things, you know that I love you.”
Jesus said, “Feed my sheep”. - John 21:15-17

It’s sobering to consider that my spiritual life was nourished by other Christians who saw me as a sheep and took time to feed me. This reality strips back pride and self-sufficiency. When you humbly consider that your faith is not solely up to you.

This instruction to Peter was bold and unwavering. If Peter wanted to show love to Jesus, he must first be fully committed to the nourishment of little ones in Christ. There is no alternative path.

Jesus cares so much for those struggling in their faith or blinded by the world that he calls mature faithful ones to be poured out. Love initiates the action and this love is not finite. When we realize the infinite love that Christ has for us, it ignites something infinitely deep inside.

This love is a witness to the love of Christ.
